About

Athanasios Kiourtis is an Assistant Professor at the Department of
Informatics and Telematics of Harokopio University of Athens.

Thanos’s research focus relies on the “System Programming Techniques on the World Wide Web”. He is a graduate of the Department of Digital Systems of the University of Piraeus, from which he received his Bachelor’s Degree in 2013, his Master’s Degree in Network-Centric Systems in 2015 and his PhD in 2019, with a research specialization in data interoperability in heterogeneous web infrastructures and applications. He has participated in European and national research projects (e.g., HEU XR5.0, HEU FAME, HEU SmartCHANGE, H2020 PolicyCLOUD, H2020 InteropEHRate), in positions of researcher and technical coordinator, and has a rich published research work, with many publications in distinguished international scientific journals and proceedings of international conferences. His research interests focus on World Wide Web technologies, web systems programming, services and data interoperability, data exchange protocols and big data management and analysis. He has significant academic and teaching experience, having served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Piraeus and an Academic Associate at university institutions, such as the University of West Attica, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and the National Technical University of Athens.
